Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia and the world, forced all countries to revise their development plans. The economic development of a country aims to obtain economic growth, which can encourage an increase in the population's per capita income followed by an increase in human development. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of economic growth on human development performance in West Java province during the Covid-19 pandemic period. The research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive and inferential analysis methods. The linear regression analysis technique was applied to determine the relationship between the human development index and economic growth and mapped it on a quadrant map. The findings obtained describe the growth of the human development index in West Java in 2021 as a whole has not been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, in fact there are ten districts/cities that have human index growth that is above the growth of the human development index of West Java province. The estimation results of the regression equation confirm the relationship very strong index of human development on economic growth in West Java. Likewise, the human development index in West Java is strongly influenced by economic growth
