Abstract

This study aims to carry out financial planning and overcome excessive consumptive habits during the COVID-19 pandemic or other economic crisis so that panic buying does not occur. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection used direct interviews and messages via Whatsapp to 10 housewife informants. The results of this study are divided into two types, namely the budgeting plan and consumption habits. For the budgeting plan, housewives, they prefer to set aside monthly money from their husband's income for savings. This fund is just in case something unexpected happens to the family. Even though this money saving only lasts a few months, the family can still buy necessities for primary needs, even though the price of goods or services during the COVID19 period was soaring and goods or services are also scarce. With a note, the needs they buy must be planned, such as needs that must be prioritized. The second is consumption habits, families looking for necessities such as sugar which is very rare and expensive not found in
supermarkets, they usually buy at the grocery store where in the days before COVID-19 most people did not buy there.
