History of JoPBA

Based on the ISSN assignment decision issued by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), No.0005.27463648/K.4/SK.ISSN/2020.10, the Journal of Public and Business Accounting (JoPBA) has been published since 2020. JoPBA is a scholarly journal published by the Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Widyagama Malang, Indonesia.

Since its establishment, JoPBA has continued to develop its publication standards, article templates, and editorial management. The journal initially published six articles per issue, consisting of four articles from external authors and two from internal authors. Beginning with Volume 5, Issue 1 (January–June 2025), the article quota was increased to ten articles per issue, consisting of seven articles from external authors and three from internal authors. Publication fees for both internal and external authors were also implemented starting in 2025.

The key developments in JoPBA's publication history are summarized below:

  • 2020: JoPBA began publishing under ISSN 2746-3648 (online) and ISSN 2746-3613 (print).

  • July–December 2020 (Volume 1, Issue 2): The journal revised its article template following its initial issue.

  • 2020: JoPBA was indexed in GARUDA.

  • January–June 2023 (Volume 4, Issue 1): The journal revised its article template, establishing the template version used from that issue onward.

  • January–June 2025 (Volume 5, Issue 1): The journal increased its article quota from six to ten articles per issue.

  • 2025: JoPBA implemented publication fees for both internal and external authors.

  • 2026 (Volume 7, Issue 1): JoPBA transitioned to a new official Open Journal Systems (OJS) website following a security incident involving its previous website.

Announcement of the New OJS Website for JoPBA

The Journal of Public and Business Accounting (JoPBA) announces that, beginning with Volume 7, Issue 1 (2026), all manuscript submissions and journal management activities are conducted through its new official Open Journal Systems (OJS) website.

This transition follows a security incident in which the previous website was compromised and misused to display unauthorized online gambling-related content. To safeguard the journal's publishing activities and ensure continuity of editorial management, JoPBA has established the new OJS website as its official platform.

All authors, reviewers, editors, and other journal stakeholders are requested to use the new official website for all journal-related activities, including manuscript submission, peer review, editorial correspondence, and publication updates.

The previous OJS website is provided for historical reference only and should not be used for new submissions or current editorial processes.

JoPBA remains committed to maintaining publication quality, research integrity, transparency, and responsible scholarly publishing.
