Author Guidelines

The Journal of Integrated Management Systems (JIMS) invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the development of integrated management systems. Authors are required to adhere strictly to the following guidelines to ensure consistency, clarity, and academic rigor.


1. General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to JIMS must be original works that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions must comply with ethical standards, including passing a similarity check (maximum 25%) using Turnitin or similar tools, as well as an AI detection threshold (maximum 25%) using tools such as QuillBot.

The manuscript must be written in clear and concise academic English and follow the standard structure of scientific writing. Authors are encouraged to ensure that all references are authentic, accessible, and verifiable through valid digital sources.


2. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should follow the IMRAD format, consisting of:

  • Title (maximum 20 words)
  • Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
  • Abstract (150–200 words, including objectives, methods, and results)
  • Keywords (maximum 5 words, separated by semicolons)
  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Analysis and Discussion
  • Conclusions
  • Conflict of Interest
  • Acknowledgements (optional)
  • References

3. Formatting Guidelines

Manuscripts must be prepared using the following formatting standards:

  • Font: Cambria
  • Font size:
    • Title: 14 pt (bold)
    • Main text: 12 pt
    • Abstract and keywords: 10 pt
  • Line spacing: single spacing
  • Margins:
    • Top: 3 cm
    • Left, right, bottom: 2 cm
  • Paragraph spacing: 12 pt before and after
  • Alignment: justified (left and right aligned)
  • Length: 13–20 pages

Headings must be written in bold capital letters, while subheadings should be in bold with standard capitalization.


4. Tables, Figures, and Equations

Tables, figures, and equations must be clearly presented and properly referenced in the text:

  • All tables and figures must be numbered sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.)
  • Titles must be placed above tables and below figures
  • All tables must be editable and include a source citation
  • All figures must clearly state their source (if applicable), whether placed below the figure or cited within the text
  • Figures and images must be clear, legible, and properly labeled
  • Equations must be created using an equation editor and numbered sequentially

Each table, figure, and equation must be explicitly referred to in the manuscript narrative.


5. Citation and References

All citations and references must follow the APA style. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

Reference requirements:

  • Minimum of 25 references
  • Preferably from recent journal articles (last 5 years)
  • Books should be from the last 10 years
  • Regulations and legal documents are exempt from year limitations

All references must be written in Cambria 10 pt, single spacing, and must include accessible and verifiable sources.


6. Ethical Considerations

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is free from plagiarism and unethical practices
  • All data presented are accurate and not manipulated
  • Proper acknowledgment is given to all sources
  • Any conflicts of interest are disclosed

A statement of Conflict of Interest must be included, even if none exist.


7. Submission Procedure

  • Full manuscript (in accordance with the template)
  • Similarity report (≤25%)

Incomplete submissions or those not complying with the guidelines may be returned for revision prior to review.


8. Review and Publication Process

All submitted manuscripts will undergo an initial editorial screening, followed by a double-blind peer review process for eligible papers. Final decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ recommendations.

Authors are encouraged to carefully follow the official JIMS template to ensure smooth processing of their manuscripts. Non-compliance with formatting and structural requirements may result in delays or rejection.
