Electronic Filing and Archiving Policy

JASEE — Journal of Application and Science on Electrical Engineering

JASEE (Journal of Application and Science on Electrical Engineering), published by the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Widya Gama Malang, is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, integrity, accessibility, and availability of its published scholarly content.

As an open-access journal, JASEE recognizes digital preservation as an essential component of responsible scholarly publishing and the continuity of scientific knowledge in electrical and electronic engineering.

1. Digital Content Preservation

JASEE maintains its published articles through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Digital content includes published full-text articles, bibliographic metadata, abstracts, keywords, supplementary materials where available, and publication records.

Published articles remain accessible through the journal's online archive and are identified using Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) where assigned.

2. Electronic Backup

JASEE establishes regular electronic backup procedures in coordination with the journal publisher and the university's information technology administrators.

The backup procedures cover the journal database, published article files, supplementary materials, relevant system configurations, and essential publication metadata.

Backup copies are maintained in secure storage separate from the primary journal environment to minimize the risk of permanent data loss due to technical failures, cyber incidents, or other disruptions.

3. Long-Term Digital Preservation

JASEE supports the implementation of recognized digital preservation mechanisms, including the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), subject to technical compatibility and successful activation.

The journal may also collaborate with institutional repositories or other recognized preservation services to provide additional protection for its scholarly publications.

Participation in external preservation networks shall be publicly declared only after the preservation arrangements have been verified.

4. Access and Continuity

JASEE is committed to maintaining long-term public access to its published articles.

In the event of website disruption, server migration, platform upgrades, or temporary technical failures, the journal publisher and designated technical administrators are responsible for coordinating restoration of the journal's digital content using available backup and preservation resources.

If the journal ceases publication, the publisher will seek to maintain access to previously published content through its institutional infrastructure or an established digital preservation service.

5. Integrity of Published Records

JASEE maintains the integrity of its scholarly publication records. Corrections, retractions, and other post-publication updates are handled in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

Relevant publication metadata and article records are retained to support transparency, traceability, and scholarly referencing.

6. Policy Review and Responsibility

The Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor oversee the implementation and periodic review of this policy in coordination with the journal publisher and university information technology administrators.

The policy is reviewed periodically to ensure its continued relevance to developments in digital publishing, information security, and scholarly preservation standards.
