Electronic Archiving & Digital Preservation Policy

Bulletin of Management and Business (BMB) is committed to maintaining the accessibility, integrity, discoverability, and long-term continuity of its scholarly publications through responsible electronic archiving and digital preservation practices.

01
Electronic Archives
Published articles, journal issues, and bibliographic metadata are maintained through the journal's OJS publishing platform.
02
Metadata Harvesting
OAI-PMH enables standardized exchange of publication metadata with compatible repositories, libraries, and academic discovery services.
03
Digital Preservation
Long-term preservation and backup arrangements are reviewed in coordination with the publisher and technical administrators.
04
Access Continuity
BMB seeks to maintain access to its scholarly publications and historical archives during publishing platform transitions.

1. Electronic Archiving

BMB uses Open Journal Systems (OJS) to manage its electronic publication archives, including published articles, journal issues, supplementary materials, and associated bibliographic metadata.

The journal seeks to ensure that published scholarly content remains accessible to authors, researchers, libraries, and the academic community. Editorial records are maintained with appropriate access restrictions to protect confidential information.

2. Open Archives Initiative (OAI-PMH)

The OJS platform supports the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), allowing compatible repositories, library systems, and indexing services to retrieve standardized scholarly publication metadata.

The public availability of this endpoint is subject to technical verification by the journal administrator.

OAI-PMH facilitates metadata interoperability and scholarly discoverability. However, metadata harvesting does not independently constitute a long-term digital preservation system.

3. Digital Preservation and Backup

BMB recognizes the importance of protecting published articles and associated metadata against accidental data loss, technical disruption, unauthorized modification, and changes in publishing infrastructure.

The Editorial Board will coordinate with the publisher and technical administrators to establish, maintain, and periodically review appropriate backup, restoration, and digital preservation arrangements.

Participation in external preservation services, including the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), LOCKSS, or CLOCKSS, will be publicly declared only after successful activation and verification.

4. Continuity of Journal Archives

To support the continuity of its scholarly publication record following the transition to a new OJS platform, BMB provides access to its previous and current publishing websites.

BMB is committed to maintaining access to its publication history and supporting the continued discoverability of previously published articles.

5. Policy Review and Development

The Editorial Board will periodically review electronic archiving arrangements, metadata accessibility, backup procedures, and digital preservation strategies to support the sustainability and integrity of the journal's scholarly record.
