Manuscrip Types
Bulletin of Management and Business (BMB) publishes original scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of management and business theory, empirical knowledge, and professional practice, with particular attention to the Indonesian context.
1. Types of Manuscripts
BMB primarily considers original empirical research articles. The following manuscript categories describe the types of scholarly contributions that may be considered within the journal's aims and scope.
01. Original Research Articles
Original Research Articles present new empirical findings based on clearly defined research questions, appropriate theoretical foundations, rigorous methodologies, and systematic data analysis.
These articles may employ quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches and must demonstrate a clear theoretical, managerial, or practical contribution.
02. Empirical Case Studies
Empirical Case Studies examine organizations, enterprises, entrepreneurial initiatives, managerial decisions, or business ecosystems through systematic investigation of real-world phenomena.
Case studies must present transparent data collection and analysis procedures, credible empirical evidence, and findings that extend beyond a purely descriptive account. They are considered a form of original research.
03. Review Articles
Systematic Literature Reviews, Meta-Analyses, and Bibliometric Reviews may be considered subject to the Editorial Board's approval and the journal's current submission priorities.
Review manuscripts must apply transparent and reproducible procedures, critically synthesize existing research, identify knowledge gaps, and provide a substantive contribution to management or business scholarship.
The acceptance of Review Articles as a separate manuscript category is subject to the Editorial Board's approval and the journal's publication priorities.
2. Research Methodologies
BMB welcomes manuscripts using rigorous research methodologies appropriate to their objectives and research questions, including:
3. General Manuscript Requirements
All submitted manuscripts must meet the following requirements:
- Present original and unpublished scholarly work.
- Demonstrate clear relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope.
- Provide appropriate theoretical foundations and a clearly explained research methodology.
- Present reliable evidence, analytical rigor, and well-supported conclusions.
- Explain theoretical, managerial, practical, or policy implications.
- Comply with BMB's manuscript template, Author Guidelines, and publication ethics.
4. Manuscripts Outside the Journal's Scope
BMB generally does not consider manuscripts that lack substantive relevance to management or business disciplines, purely descriptive reports without systematic research methods, previously published or simultaneously submitted work, or manuscripts without a clear scholarly contribution.
Editorials, opinion pieces, book reviews, and other non-research submissions are not part of the journal's regular manuscript categories unless specifically invited or approved by the Editorial Board.
5. Editorial Assessment
All submitted manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening to determine their suitability for BMB. Manuscripts meeting the journal's requirements may proceed to peer review.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to decline submissions that fall outside the journal's scope or do not satisfy its academic and ethical standards.
